January 15, 2009
Although Apple iTunes is a popular and easy-to-use application, it has its restrictions. If you want complete freedom for copying your photos and videos between your PC and iPhone or iPod, you need some extra tools. Check out our guide on how to copy images from your PC to the iPhone (and the other way around) exactly the way you want.
Things You’ll Need:
• An iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch.
• A Windows Vista, or Windows XP computer.
• CopyTrans application. It is free to download and to try out. When the trial period expires, you can purchase it for USD 29.99.
Step 1: Download and Install Photo Application
Download CopyTrans Photo application onto your PC from www.copytrans.net/copytransphoto.php.
Remember where you saved the downloaded file.
Locate the downloaded file and open it. The installation process will start. Once the installation is complete, launch CopyTrans Photo application.
Step 2: Hook up Your iPhone or iPod to the PC
Connect your iPod or iPhone to the PC where you installed the CopyTrans Photo software.
When you look at application home screen, your iPhone pictures are displayed on the left-hand side and images stored on your PC are on the right side.
The right-most pane lets you navigate folders on your computer for more images.
Step 3: Create Photo Albums on Your iPhone
When you are ready to copy photos to your iPhone or iPod, it may be a good idea to create folders for different types of pictures.
Click new folder-button (see the picture below for the circled item).
Type a name for the new folder.
Step 4: Copy Photos to the iPhone
Select photos in the right pane of the application main screen. These photos will be copied to your iPhone.
Drag the selected photos to the left side of the application window and drop them there.
You can also transfer photos stored on your iPhone back to the PC. In this case, you select pictures in the left pane and drag them to the right side.
Step 4: Confirm the Transfer
Finally, apply the changes you have made both to your pictures on the computer and iPhone by clicking the Apply changes-button.
In case you don't want the changes to take effect, you can leave everything untouched by closing the application.
Note: There are plenty of other features in the CopyTrans Photo application, for example, you can make impressive photo slideshows.

Dumb question. I tried CopyTrans photo and it is way more convenient. It allows to backup iPhone photos to the computer. It can also transfer photos to my iPhone 3G. That requires a simple dragndrop! I can organize as many albums as i want. A dream this CTPhoto!
