Gravity application brings Twitter to Symbian S60 smartphones / News 03.04.2009 00:59
The popular microblogging service Twitter can be accessed from a mobile phone and from a PC. There are plenty of applications available for PCs that improve the usability of Twitter's primitive Web page. Mobile phone users can update their Twitter message streams simply by sending text messages to their accounts. Twitter's mobile page (http://m.twitter.com/) is also pretty archaic. The whole point with Twitter is to be able to follow what other people are doing and to catch up with breaking news being tweeted via the service. So, serious Twitterers need a better tool than text messages or Twitter's default page for mobile access.
Gravity is a downloadable application for Symbian OS S60 smartphones that brings rich Twitter functionality to Nokia, Samsung, and LG phones. Gravity lets you manage multiple Twitter accounts, use Laconica microblogging service and TwitPic. You can post new messages (tweets), reply, send direct messages, follow, unfollow, favorite, search, and auto-update. A trial version of the application can be downloaded for free. The full version costs 7.70 euros.
If you like to use the Web browser on your phone for Twitter access, we recommend that you try out dabr service.
