Tiny and affordable Sony Ericsson T715 mobile phone / 26.06.2009 04:15
While a large part of the world is raving about touch screen phones that tend to be sizeable because of the large screen required for finger input, even larger part of the world just wants to find a small, no-frills phone for personal communication. Even better if the no-frills phone can be purchased for less than half the price of a smartphone. Sony Ericsson has designed a credit card size mobile phone for these people.
The Sony Ericsson T715 is a tiny mobile phone with a slide-out keypad for ultra compactness. The slide-out structure makes the unit somewhat thick, but not too much (it is 15mm thick, 91mm tall and 48 wide). Also the display is compact in size; 2.2 inches and 320x240 pixels. The digital camera has 3.2 megapixel image sensor and it can record video clips. Bluetooth, USB, and FM radio features are included. Music player has features familiar from Walkman phones, such as MegaBass and Track ID.
Although the Sony Ericsson T715 doesn't have built-in GPS receiver, Google Maps application preinstalled on the phone can roughly determine the location. It is achieved with information received from mobile network's cellular towers. The T715 is a quad-band GSM and 3G UMTS phone. The model T715a is also a quad-band GSM phone, but its 3G network hardware can connect to three frequency bands. HSPA is available for high-speed Internet access.
