Motorola RAZR V3
The Motorola RAZR V3 is a phone that introduced a fresh dimension to the style of flip phones by proving that thin is beautiful. The phone has become so popular that Motorola has produced new models V3i, V3x and V3c that look just as nice as the original RAZR V3, but have a bunch of new features inside.
Key features:
- Beautifully designed phone in a solid aluminum case.
- Plays MP3 and MIDI music and the songs can be used as ringtones.
- Text messaging, MMS (picture and audio) messaging, instant messaging and email.
- Digital camera and color screen with a resolution of 176x220 pixels.
- Quad-band GSM phone with GPRS, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
A major reason why Motorola has managed to build such a thin phone is its flat keypad. It is like a touchpad in a sense that there are no individual keys, but only a carving on the plate that indicates which key is which one. The solution works fine, except for fast text message writers who may regard the keypad somewhat slow to use. The keypad is illuminated and looks really nice when the backlight shines through the keypad.
In addition to the main color screen inside the phone (that has a resolution of 176x220 pixels), there's a small screen on the cover that displays caller information. The Bluetooth connectivity can be used, for example, with a wireless headset. The USB connector on the side of the unit makes it easy to hook the phone up to a computer.
The Motorola RAZR V3 is not a smartphone, but it is possible to download Java software and add games, utilities, news readers and other applications to the phone.
The battery life is respectable for such a small phone: up to seven hours of talk time and up to ten days of standby time.
We didn't like the very limited memory space that the RAZR V3 leaves for user data. There's only 5MB of free memory for additional applications, photos and music, and without a memory card, this model is not suitable for frequent photographing or music listening. Lack of synchronization software is surprising as well, but the sync application can be purchased separately.
The Motorola RAZR V3i looks the same and is almost the same as the RAZR V3, but the RAZR V3i comes with better digital camera and iTunes music player software. The new camera allows you to take pictures in 1.2 megapixel resolution and also capture video clips. The built-in iTunes software lets you download and play songs from the iTunes Store. MicroSD memory card is available as a storage space for music, photos and other information.
The Motorola RAZR V3x has been designed to be used on fast 3G networks. This model works on GSM networks and transfers data over UMTS/WCDMA service at broadband speed. The RAZR V3x comes with two cameras, one on the same side as the main screen and the other camera on the back of the unit. Two cameras are needed for two-way video conferencing enabled by the UMTS network. The camera outside the unit is meant for snapping photos and it has a 2 megapixel image sensor.
The Motorola RAZR V3c is another phone for 3G networks, but this model runs on CDMA 1x EV-DO technology. In addition to the fast EV-DO data communications, the RAZR V3c features a 1.3 megapixel digital camera. Instead of Java applications, it is possible to download new applications programmed in BREW to the phone.
Who likes this product: The Motorola RAZR V3 is for everyone who likes to make a statement with his or her phone, but doesn't need advanced features.
Style: This product started a new trend for thin design in phone business, and that's something very few products can claim to their credit. The unit is beautiful to watch and hold, although it is somewhat wider than you might expect.
Value for money: The Motorola RAZR is very good value for money for everyone who prefers style and doesn't need a phone that comes with all features known to mankind. Style doesn't come cheap and those who buy this phone, are ready to pay more for the design than for the functionality.

Hey Aman buddy just when u r talking on ur v3i just when the conversation started just press and hold the voice record key it will record the conversation there is only this way of recording the conversation on v3i there is no software like spy call for v3i

hey, i like motorolas but dont have one myself, im thinking about buying one but my friend says they aren't very good because if you drop them just once, they stuff up and stop working, can you test this or find out if its true? thanks for your help

Lyse, most of the common phone models haven't been designed to stand dropping on the floor or on the ground. I've dropped many different units (not the RAZR, though) and some survive, some don't. The heavier the phone is, the more likely it is to break - just my experience. If you want a phone designed to stand a few knocks and drops, you should consider a rugged sports model with rubber edges and solid structure. They are, to a certain degree, also water resistant.
